Question: Why I did I get error '[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Introducing FOREIGN KEY constraint '
I am trying to upsize Orders and Customers tables in Access 2000 Northwind database using Microsoft Access 2002/2003. I have added 2 more relationships between Customers!CustomerID and Orders!CustomerID with CASCADE UPDATE ON. Microsoft Upsizing Wizard created tables Customers and Orders but failed to create any relationships between tables. In the Upsizing Wizard report I have got error
'[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Introducing FOREIGN KEY constraint 'Orders_FK01' on table 'Orders' may cause cycles or multiple cascade paths. Specify ON DELETE NO ACTION or ON UPDATE NO ACTION, or modify other FOREIGN KEY constraints.'
If I tried to use Access 97/2000 Upsizing Wizard it falls over with error
>Server Error 8136: Duplicate columns specified in FOREIGN KEY constraint key list,
>Server Error 8139: Number of referencing columns specified in foreign key
differes from number of referenced columns, table 'TemporaryUpsizedTable'.
Why do I get those errors? You have to delete duplicate relationships such as CustomersOrders1, CustomersOrders2 between Customers and Orders tables.
